Experience: Sigurds is a director at the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Sigurds spent ten years in active duty service with the United States Air Force (USAF) Judge Advocate General Officer Corp, specializing primarily in civil and criminal litigation. He held various positions in the USAF, including Chief of Torts at Luke AFB, Arizona; Chief Prosecutor and Area Defense Counsel at Anderson AFB, Guam; Circuit Defense Counsel-Eastern Circuit at Hurlburt Field, Florida; Medical Law Consultant at David Grant USAF Medical Center; Special Assistant to U.S. Attorney Offices in defending complex criminal and medical malpractice cases. Since 2000, Sigurds continues in his service in the USAF Reserves working as a Medical Law Consultant at David Grant USAF Medical Center providing legal expertise in healthcare law and medical malpractice cases. He has now retired from the USAF Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. As a partner in the firm, Sigurds has represented hospitals and insurers in a variety of medical malpractice matters. He represents healthcare providers before medical licensing boards. Sigurds also represents businesses in contract dispute matters. Sigurds has substantial trial experience from his service in the Air Force and in the representation of clients for the firm. He is a frequent lecturer on health law subjects.
